Which iPhone 12 do you have?
Settings › General › About shows the model name. Each one below takes its own screen, so the exact model matters when you call.
| Model | Screen | Port | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone 12 mini | 5.4-inch OLED, notch | Lightning | Smallest phone here, smallest battery. |
| iPhone 12 | 6.1-inch OLED, notch | Lightning | Shares its display with the 12 Pro. |
| iPhone 12 Pro | 6.1-inch OLED, notch | Lightning | Stainless steel frame, three rear cameras. |
| iPhone 12 Pro Max | 6.7-inch OLED, notch | Lightning | Largest 12; its own screen part. |
Screens: all four are OLED
Every 12 is OLED, so a bad drop tends to show as green or white vertical lines, a black screen that still vibrates, or a green tint — not just cracked glass. Flat edges mean the corners take the hit. A cracked corner can leave a working display for a while, but cracks spread.
The 12 and 12 Pro share the same display. The 12 mini and 12 Pro Max are their own parts. iPhone screens are $80–$160 with tempered glass included; the exact figure for your model is quoted at the counter.

Battery: the 12 mini drains first
The 12 mini packs a small battery into a small phone, so it is usually the first 12 to feel like it cannot make it to dinner. The 12 and 12 Pro follow after a few years of daily charging.
If the battery has swollen enough to lift the screen or the back, stop charging it and bring it in — that is a reason not to wait. Otherwise, a phone that shuts off with charge left is a battery look. Battery jobs are quoted at the counter.

Lightning port and MagSafe
The 12 still charges through Lightning. If MagSafe or a wireless pad charges it but the cable will not, that points at the port, not the battery — useful to know before you walk in.
Lint packed at the back of the port and a worn port flex are the usual causes. On most iPhones the bottom microphone rides on that same flex, so if callers say you sound far away, mention it.

Back glass and Face ID
The 12 family’s rear glass is part of the housing rather than a separate panel, and the MagSafe magnets and charging coil sit behind it. A shattered back is a bigger job than a screen. We look at it at the counter and quote it before anything starts.
Face ID sits in the notch. On a screen job, the parts at the earpiece move from the old display to the new one. A hit right at the top of the phone can damage them, and then new glass alone will not bring Face ID back. We test it before we start.
Price and timing
What we post, and what we quote at the counter
- iPhone screens are $80–$160 with tempered glass included. The exact figure for your iPhone 12 model is quoted at the counter or over the phone.
- Battery, charging port, back glass, and board work are quoted at the counter for the phone in your hand. Call or walk in for an exact quote.
- Screens, batteries, and charging ports are usually same-day when the part is here. Board work and water damage are slower. If we do not have the part, we do not start the job.
- Walk in at 332 N Azusa Ave, West Covina, CA 91791, corner of Workman and Azusa, next to Leprechaun Liquor. No appointment. Call (909) 292-8295. People drive in from Covina, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Walnut, and La Puente — it is the same West Covina shop.
